The above model of the then proposed war memorial on Victoria Embankment was featured in The Graphic newspaper of 28 October 1922. Note the feature on the south side of the road, which is not there any more, but most certainly was in 1930 (albeit in slightly amended form) when the aerial photograph below was taken.

The memorial was unveiled on 11 November 1927.
A restoration of the Memorial Gardens was completed in late 2022 and the site is well worth a visit.
Jenny's Great Uncle Percy is commemorated there.
